About

I’m a stay-at-home to my six children.  My four boys have all been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum.

My oldest daughter likes to claim she is the only “normal one” of the lot.  She’s a lot like me though and I know I’m weird, so you never know…   😉

My last (another daughter) was diagnosed with anxiety and sensory processing. She is undiagnosed on the autism spectrum, and frankly we’re not sure where she falls on the scale of things.  We’ve been doing early interventions with her not long after her 14 month check-in because I’ve seen the same red flags as her siblings had. The interventions have helped a lot, but it’s made it unclear whether or not she is on the spectrum as well.

This blog is about our real life.  How we cope (faith, humor, creative projects, dance and music are our top picks).  In short you’ll see the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I chose 123-autism.com for my domain because it reminds me to K.I.S.S. (keep it simple sweetie) when things get rough.

I love my husband and kids fiercely and would go to the ends of the earth and wrestle grizzly bears for them–even when they may drive me bonkers. (Though why anyone would actually want to wrestle a grizzly bear is beyond me. I would totally do it though if it meant helping my family).

Oh, and by the way, when you see me post scrapbook pages, I will be disguising their faces, and I’ve changed the names of the kids to protect their identities– because they didn’t get to choose whether or not they wanted a blogger mommy.

They just got stuck with me.  😀
